Anika Noi Rose Anika Noi Rose, an American singer-actress is best known for her performance in the film The Princess and The Frog. She is best known for voicing Tiana the first Disney African-American princess In The Princess and the Frog. Rose was named as a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose appeared in Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1972) is an American actor and performer. The most famous of her roles was her role as Tiana, the Disney Princess, who was the first African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. Also, she has a prominent role, as Lorrell Robinson as Lorrell Robinson, in Dreamgirls (2006) that received nominations for the Academy Award. And she is the jukebox player LaVerne Ganner on the show Starz's Power. Apart from her acting, she is well-known for her roles performed in theater. They include Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway version of Caroline or Change (2005) where the Tony Award Best Features Actress in A Musical award was given and Beneatha in the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun (2017) for which the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were made.
